Bob Eggleton — “Godzilla 1962 Appearance” Original Oil Painting (2002) — Framed

ボブ・エグルトン「ゴジラ 1962年の姿」2002年制作 オリジナル油彩画 額装

Original Godzilla painting by nine-time Hugo Award-winning artist Bob Eggleton, titled Godzilla 1962 Appearance, painted in 2002. Eggleton is internationally recognized as one of the foremost science fiction and fantasy illustrators, particularly celebrated for his depictions of Godzilla and other classic movie monsters.

Created during what is considered Eggleton's prime era of Godzilla artwork, this original oil painting captures Godzilla's distinctive 1962 appearance from King Kong vs. Godzilla. The composition depicts Godzilla emerging from an icy landscape, with dramatic yellow and orange highlights contrasting against rich blue and turquoise surroundings.

Executed in oils on board, the painting showcases Eggleton's expressive brushwork, vibrant color palette, and distinctive interpretation of the King of the Monsters.

The image was subsequently reproduced as a smaller print, offered and signed by  Eggleton. This painting is the one-of-a-kind original artwork from which those prints were produced, not a print or reproduction.

The painting remains in the original frame selected and placed by Bob Eggleton himself, preserving its presentation as it came from the artist. It is signed and dated by Eggleton and presented with a blue mat and ornate gold-tone frame.
